Still down with cough. When will this cough go away?

It’s almost two weeks that I have coughed. Took MC, eat medicine and came back to work. My cough is not sparing me. But I think it’s the working environment – meeting a lot of travelers. The germs and viruses are flying everywhere. The dirty passports, sick travelers and foreigners, filthy environment and the weather. All are factors to why this cough won’t go away.

Many colleagues down with cough too, some are about to start getting sore throat, fever, losing voice and many other sick symptoms. Thus, it is doubly difficult for me to recover.

And today at Starbucks, whenever I coughed, people looked at me. I know, the festive seasons are coming and the H1n1 is here too. I feel like shouting, trust me, I took the H1N1 jab and how come I still have fever, flu and coughing? But come on people, this is just a normal cough. I went to see the doctor and please, I am not infected with H1N1 (touch wood).

Now, my focus is to get this coughing go away. I’m tired of coughing. I cant eat that and this. I want to be fit and healthy again. What should I do to get back to my pink of health? *sigh*

Swensen Ice Cream Buffet

Out of the blue, I have cravings for ice cream. I mean good ice cream.

It all started at work when a few of us were exchanging views on the good eateries in Singapore. Harlinah brought up about Swensen Ice  Cream Buffet at ION Orchard.

Swensen ice cream is well known. The smooth texture, the wide choices and unique creations of their mix and match ice creams. The ice creams are really good and appetizing. I usually dine in for their ice cream in the outlet, just a la carte.

Recently, Swensen had just opened another outlet at ION Orchard, and this time with a new dine in menu – Ice Cream Buffet. Swensen first ever outlet to launch the buffet.

The buffet will cover over 50 ice cream flavors, 40 toppings, chocolate fondue, waffles and cakes. The thought of sitting down eating ice cream makes my tummy rumbles. I want to indulge in those sinfully ice cream!

The whole day buffet is priced at $18.90++ per pax and since pay is coming in real soon, I’m gonna book a day with baby to gobble all the ice creams.

The habit of reading

Reading a book was never my hobby. In fact, my hatred towards reading is mountain high. Through out my past years of living, I have never finish reading a book.

In primary and secondary school, we had this gazetted time that the school prepares for pure reading. Every student will need to read a book. I always pretend to but my mind is elsewhere. I just hated reading so much. That explains for my poor English command. I never scored well for English papers. Just  a pass or slightly better. It seems almost impossible to earn a B grade.

And my mindset towards that has changed. Love has changed me. Love can actually influence you, be it towards negativity or positivity.

Bf is readaholic. He loves reading book. Being with him has influenced me to read books – more on the factual based types. Now, I make the habit of reading book as my pastime. It gives you more knowledge and widens your mind. It can also be a good distress activity.

He is into business books. He reads a lot of business based information books. Since we share the same interest – business, it helps that his book appeals to me. I have finished reading few good books that he recommends and they are really mind-changing.

Sometimes, I believe to pick up a habit, you need to be surrounded by people of that similar habit. If you want to be a successful entrepreneur, you need to be with businessmen who have made it big.

The coffee addicts netizens!

Honey bought a new laptop – Asus Eee Pc at the Sitex Fair for $589, which was actually retail for $750!

On top of that, he got lots of freebies – 8GB thumb drive, headset, laptop cleaner and mouse. That’s what I call a great great deal! It’s worth the money!

In collaboration with the Sitex Fair, M1 had their superb superb promotion on their mobile broadband. All plans were on 50% discount and since bf had a M1 line for both of us, 2 mobile broadband were given further 30% for signing up 4 lines in all! That’s a total of almost 80% savings on the broadband. What’s more, the devices were free and we get free mugs, one each!

I bought myself a hard disk drive since I’ve always wanted to get one. Fujitsu Calmee Xena 320GB mirror glass finish were selling for $99 instead of $129! Now I have a storage disk drive for my pictures and songs! I was also given a PSP console cover as a free gift.

Now, since bf had his own netbook, our favorite chilling activity is to get a drink at Starbucks and surf the net side by side, enjoying the ambience and the cup of coffee.

We really hope to get ‘something’ up soon, that will be on our next year resolution. I want to be financially independent, that’s the drive. We want to be entrepreneurs, may Allah give His blessings. Insya-Allah.

Bonus percentage is in, though not getting as much as expected. The amount should be beneficial and that means I need to cut down shopping and dining at expensive places. Body Shop stuffs will put on hold till next year (since stocks are pretty a lot under my bed). Clothes and accessories will be banned for the time being as my wardrobe is bursting. I still have about 5 tops that I’ve bought and have yet to wear.

Time is passing real fast. Soon it’s 2010 and another year passed. I’m preparing feasible resolutions for 2010 and I really hope that next year will be a fruitful year for us. And since 2009 is coming to an end, December always seems to be a busy month. I have lots and lots of activities coming up. My schedule is packed – meeting old friends, weddings, gatherings, outings, movies and many more. Hopefully, I will be able to accomplish most of my ‘delayed plans’ for 2009 before the struck of midnight on 31st December 2009!

Down with flu and sore throat!

A week since my last update. My week has been so busy. Weddings after weddings and outing after outing. Finally, I call it a break.

I need a break so badly, my health is begging me. Out of the blue, I was down with sore throat. I’m still figuring out where the viruses and germs come from. Sometimes, your fatigue plays a major part. I blamed it to the lack of sleep. I barely had 6 hours of sleep through out that week. Busy with many events to attend, what’s more with the unpredictable weather.

2 days passed with my sore throat and now with flu and migraine. Oh someone please take away these viruses away from my body. I have so much things to do, I need the energy.

I have so many events to attend, so many things to accomplish. The To-Do-List is getting super super long. December is such a busy month. I have to fight time for myself – to recuperate and re-energized!

Since, I am not feeling to good. I’ve decided to take MC, to update myself, rest well and complete the tasks that I’ve yet to finish up and put on hold for some time.

Meantime, I need to find a dress for a wedding tomorrow.

Free publicity – LOVE them

We love to speculate, gossips, make assumptions and talk about one another. Sometimes, conscious or not, we deliberately add sugar and spice to turn a topic into a ‘hot’ subject.

I call this free publicity – negative ones.

The topic may change partly or in whole during the process of speculating and making assumptions. Our brains are angled to a one-sided view such that we tend to suit our thinking towards the norms, or what we think could possibly happen. We didn’t realized that they are actually 1001 possibility to every things that had happened. Sadly, most of us do not take the effort to investigate the matter and take it into our hands and then spread rumors.

I’m so immune to free publicity at work. They create so much rumors that sometimes, I myself wasn’t aware of such cold wars going on between me and some other party. And it is so shocking that out of a sudden, people know your name and they know your stories – amended ones of course.

But the fact, you cannot change people neither can you stop them from continuing to speculate. You simply cannot please everyone. For me, it’s a challenged that i take it positively. Hey. at least, more people know of your existence. But I must be strong, I am aware of such rumors that can damage my career. Think positively. God is fair, He will path a separate route for us to succeed if it means to be ours. And I don’t care what they gossip about, as long as my loved ones and close friends know that is ain’t true about me. People don’t have to know where we come from, it can always be another set of rumors. It’s always the lesser said is better.

Whatever the instances may be, take it positively. God has a reason for every thing that had happened. Sometimes, things have to happen for something else to result.

Can you satisfy all?

It is normal. You cannot please everyone. Some will like you, some do not. So why care? As long as you’re happy and never do things to trouble other people. It’s fine.

I adopt that principle. I don’t care what people say or think about me. As long as my loved ones and my good friends know who I am and they know how to differentiate rumors or truth about me, it’s perfectly ok.

People talked about you for many reasons. Some feel inferior towards you. Some just want to get even. But the funny thing, the people who talked about you are the ones that are not even closed to you. They rarely know you and they make assumptions about you.

They would never stab you in the back if they know you well enough, or they know where you’re coming from.

I try to put myself in their shoes. If I am not conscious about these evils, I would be just like them – going around to destroy people’s happiness. Thank God, I’m civilized. I am so thankful that I do not have many friends at work that it’s a gossip session whenever we gather. I stick to myself and the most, hi-bye kinda greetings to passerby.

As I said, I’m kinda immune to all these rumors and gossips. It doesn’t get me thinking till it’s getting on my nerve. Wait till I’ve lost all my patience and erupt! I bet you, it’s not gonna be a pleasant ans beautiful sight!
